A poker fund built by two Stanford graduates to deploy a documented analytical edge at the 2026 World Series of Poker.

Two players, $100,000 in capital, six weeks in Las Vegas.

Approach

Quick decisions, incomplete information, against people.

We believe poker is a game of making quick decisions with incomplete information against people. Every decision we make traces back to first principles: what does the situation call and how do we act.

Every hand is our read to make, our money to risk, and our decision to own.

  1. Game selection

The best hand at the wrong table still loses money.

Before a card is dealt we decide which room, which game, and which seat gives us the clearest edge.

  2. Opponent modeling

Every player at the table has a pattern.

We classify them early and we update that read continuously as new information arrives. Most of the edge lives here.

  3. Rigorous performance tracking

Every session is logged the same day it ends.

Every significant hand gets a written note: what we observed, what we did, and whether the read was right.

The two of us

Two players, two careers, one fund.

Yosef Negussie

Yosef Negussie

Co-Manager, Strategy Lead

Yosef started at IBM building predictive models on mission-critical projects and leading teams that delivered over $300M in contract signings. He went to Stanford GSB, spent time at a $3B consumer growth-equity firm and a Series B fintech, then joined McKinsey's M&A practice running due diligence and operational playbooks. A year in, he took a sabbatical to play poker seriously.

His style is exploitative. The cards matter less than the person holding them. He's reading tendencies, table dynamics, and the small interpersonal signals most players walk past. That's where his decisions come from. He has cashed in every $10,000 buy-in he has entered: two WSOP Main Events and the WPT World Championship. Profitable every year since 2022, supporting himself on poker alone in New York.

Alwin Hui

Alwin Hui

Co-Manager, Operations Lead

Alwin is the founder and CEO of Almunakh, an AI climate-intelligence platform helping enterprises get ahead of extreme weather. Before that he co-founded Proscia, a digital pathology platform now used by hospitals worldwide to diagnose cancer faster. He has built software from zero in environments where getting it wrong has real consequences.

He runs poker the same way. He wants to know exactly why a spot is profitable before money goes in. He grinds mid-stakes live cash all year at $5/$10 and $10/$20, has posted five-figure profit multiple years running, and his pilot 2025 WSOP fund returned 12% to investors. This time he's playing for a much bigger return for everyone backing him.

Together

Yosef runs the poker. Alwin runs the systems.

Between us the fund has two things most staking arrangements don’t: a player who left a McKinsey career to do this full time, and an operator who has built software products from scratch and knows how to turn session data into decisions. The session tracker, the investor dashboard, and the weekly reporting are Alwin’s domain. The game selection, table reads, and tournament calls are Yosef’s. Neither of us is doing both.

Two players in one fund means twice the volume, a second opinion on every seat, and a bad week from one player diluted by the other’s hours. The fund’s results land closer to our long-run edge instead of one bad session.

What we built

Real-time visibility, every investor.

Every session is logged within 24 hours. The dashboard shows live bankroll, performance history, each investor’s current position, and projected payout. It pulls from a shared session tracker, updates in real time, and gives every investor a direct view into the fund without any filtering or summarising on our end.
